Is itsourtree.com available in other languages?
We are currently working on making the site available in many languages, so that you can invite your foreign relatives. At the moment itsourtree.com is available in German (verwandt.de, verwandt.at , verwandt.ch), Italian (parentistretti.it ), Portuguese (meusparentes.pt), Brazilian (meusparentes.com.br), Spanish (miparentela.es), Polish (moikrewni.pl), French (familleunie.fr) and Dutch (verwant.nl).
You can switch between the different language by clicking on the small flags.
How can I invite foreign relatives, e.g. from Poland?
The program automatically saves the current language. So if you change to Polish in your tree and add a profile with email address, the invitation will be sent in Polish. You can do the same for people you have already added to your tree: just change to the Polish version and add the email address to the profile. The invitation will also be sent in Polish. As soon as you switch back to German version, all emails will be sent in German.
The easiest way is to choose a person's mother tongue when you enter the email address to invite him or her.
Due to the fact that itsourtree.com has become a very international site and many families have members all over the world, we have added a possibility to choose a person's language wherever you invite others. Just as in the "List" view:
Will my Polish relatives see my profile in Polish?
Yes, all contents of the page as well as all input fields (country, political attitude, languages, etc.) have been translated. Only the contents you entered in the free-text fields such as biographies and guestbook entries will remain in the original language.
Do I have to reenter my existing tree for the Polish version?
No, all languages are based on one database. So it doesn't matter what country the relatives come from, they all contribute to the same family tree.
